Born in Indiana, Greg Mitchell enjoyed the opportunity for his Hope College men's basketball team to play at Indiana's legendary Assembly Hall as much as his players.
He beamed even more after the Flying Dutchmen's outstanding effort and performance during a 95-68 exhibition loss to the Division I Hoosiers.
"This is the basketball Mecca. To play here and coach here and have our guys play well, it just makes for a great experience. We will remember it."
Senior forward Harrison Blackledge of Canton, Ohio (Hoover HS) recorded 12 points and six assists to lead Hope.
Senior guard Chad Carlson of Rockford, Michigan (Rockford HS) scored 11 points for the Flying Dutchmen.
Sophomore Teddy Ray of Fort Wayne, Indiana (Homestead) chipped in 10 points off the bench.
Senior center Keith Brushwyler of St. Joseph, Michigan (Stevensville-Lakeshore) totaled nine points.
Senior forward Cody Stuive of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville) netted eight points.
Junior guard Dante Hawkins of Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) finished with seven points.
