Men's Golfer Kade Hoeksema Earns Medalist Honors At Calvin Invitational

Hope College's Kade Hoeksema carded a 1-under par 73 at Pilgrim's Run Golf Course to claim medalist honors at the Calvin College Knight Invitational on Tuesday in Pierson, Michigan.

The junior from Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian) topped a field of 48 golfers.

Hoeksema, pictured, helped the 18th-ranked Flying Dutchmen placed second in the eight-team event with a score of 305. Hope finished one stroke behind Calvin.

Sophomore Andrew Goble of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton) tied for fourth after carding a 75.

Sophomore Josh Gibson of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville) tied for seventh by shooting a 77.

Senior Winton Munch of Traverse City, Michigan (Central) and sophomore Ben Kramer of Spring Lake, Michigan (Spring Lake) tied for 18th after an 81.

Freshman Daniel Settecerri of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Bloomfield Hills) played as an individual and carded a 75.

Hope returns to action on Saturday, April 22 at the first round of the 54-hole Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association NCAA Division III Championship qualifier at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids.
