Junior David White of Vernon Hills, Illinois (Vernon Hills) set up two second-half goals to help the Hope College men's soccer team rally for a 2-1 win against Olivet in the Flying Dutchmen's season finale Saturday night at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
The Flying Dutchmen overtook Olivet for sixth place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association standings and picked up potentially a valuable point in the MIAA Commissioner's Cup race.
Sophomore Christian Dault of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven) snapped a 1-1 tie with 17 minutes, 47 seconds remaining in the second half when he blasted in a quick cross from White, pictured, from about 25 yards out.
It was Dault's third goal of the season.
Hope (6-12-1 overall, 4-9-1 MIAA) pulled even 7:13 into the second half when White's assist led to the first goal of the season from freshman Dalton Bruso of Bloomington, Illinois (Normal Community).
Olivet (3-15-2, 3-9-2 MIAA) had led since scoring 19 ½ minutes into the half.
The Flying Dutchmen went 3-1-1 over their final five matches.
