Brent Wyckoff ‘90, has been an assistant men's soccer coach at Hope College since the 2015 season. He has been a fixture in the Holland soccer community for the past quarter century.
Following a player career at Hope from 1986-1988, Wyckoff began a teaching and coaching career at West Ottawa High School. While teaching a variety of history and government classes at the high school, he has also assumed many leadership roles within the high school including being the service coordinator for the International Baccalaureate program.
Wyckoff has a decorated coaching career at West Ottawa High School. Coaching both the boys and girls programs, Wyckoff has amassed over 500 total wins leading the West Ottawa program. His teams have captured a total of six conference championships and seven district championships. This success earned him a spot in the West Ottawa High School Athletic Hall of Fame. In addition to his success as a soccer coach, Wyckoff was also the assistant rugby coach at West Ottawa, helping the team to win four state championships during a five year run.
His coaching has stemmed down many layers within the West Ottawa and Holland community. Wyckoff has been an instructor and coordinator at the Hope Soccer Camp since 1994. In addition, he is the director of the West Ottawa Youth Sports Soccer Program. He has coached at a variety of soccer clubs including the West Michigan Fire Juniors and West Michigan Fire W-League Team. Wyckoff’s leadership is evident as he has served as a Michigan State ODP coach and also as an All-State Representative.
Wyckoff, holder of an NSCAA National Diploma Advanced National Diploma, and Premier Diploma, resides in Holland with his wife Becky. They have two sons, Preston and Dylan.
