Men's Cross Country Places 16th At NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional

The Hope College men's cross country team finished 16th at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Saturday at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.

The Flying Dutchmen totaled 485 points for their place in the 36-team event.

Senior Benjamin Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Prospect HS) led Hope with a 67th-place run of 27 minutes, 2.1 seconds.

Senior Jacob Jansen of Johnston, Iowa (Johnston) took 77th in 27:07.4.

Junior Ryan Holman of Holmen, Wisconsin (Holmen) came in 109th at 27:35.1.

Junior Brett Slayton of Holland, Michigan (Hamilton) placed 115th at 27:44.8.

Freshman Zackary Murphy of Coldwater, Michigan (Coldwater) rounded out Hope's scoring in 117th at 27:47.6.

Other Hope runners were senior Nicholai Shaw of Allendale, Michigan (Home School) in 122nd at 27:51.9, and junior Nathan Schloff of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) in 125th at 27:55.1.
