A record-setting start for the Hope College women's basketball team propelled the nationally ranked Flying Dutch to a record-tying win on Tuesday at DeVos Fieldhouse.
The Flying Dutch marched to a 107-65 win against Rochester College for their fourth win in as many tries this season.
Hope broke the DeVos Fieldhouse record for points scored in a half with a 64-point first half and matched its 2013 record for points scored in an entire game at DeVos Fieldhouse.
Senior forward Mandy Traversa of Winfield, Illinois (Wheaton North HS) led four Flying Dutch players in double figures with 17 points. She sank five 3-pointers.
Traversa scored all of her points during the first two quarters as Hope raced to a 64-29 halftime lead.
Sophomore center Francesca Buchanan of Grant, Michigan (Sparta) chipped in 15 points.
Senior forward Allison Hedrick of Naperville, Illinois (Neuqua Valley) added 11 points off the bench, while senior guard Angelique Gaddy of Caledonia, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian) totaled 10 points.
Hope returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 26 with a 1 p.m. nonleague game at Cornerstone.
