Megan Klintworth carded a 3-over-par 75 to top the Hope College women's golf team during the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship on Wednesday in Houston, Texas.
The junior from Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS) posted one of the day's top rounds out of the field of 116 golfers at Bay Oaks Country Club.
Hope shot four strokes better than the first round and is in 14th place out of 22 teams after 36 holes (332-328—660).
Klintworth, pictured, came in 10 strokes lower than her opening round and moved up into a tie for 40th place (85-75—160).
Junior Nicole Meyer of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton) equaled her first-round total with a second 83. She is tied for 62nd.
Seniors Dominique Molinaro of Burtchville, Michigan (Port Huron Northern) and Megan Wierenga of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian HS) also matched their first-round scores (82-85—167) to round out Hope's scoring. They are tied for 70th.
Senior Britni Gielow of Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores) is tied for 83nd (85-90—175).
Hope's third round tees off on Thursday at 8:35 a.m. Central.
