Women's Golf Rises Three Spots To 11th At NCAA Division III Championship

Dominique Molinaro fired a 4-over-par 76 to help the Hope College women's golf team rise three spots to 11th place during the third round of the NCAA Division III Championship on Thursday in Houston, Texas.

The senior from Burtchville, Michigan (Port Huron Northern HS) recorded three birdies for her best individual round of the 72-hole, four-day tournament.

Hope also shot a team-low team score of 314. The Flying Dutch (332-328-314—974) lead three teams by one stroke heading into Friday's final round: Gettysburg, Wisconsin-Stout and St. Catherine.

The top 15 teams out of the 22 who started the tournament advanced to Friday's final round at Bay Oaks Country Club. The Flying Dutch tee off at 8:45 a.m. Central.

Molinaro is tied for 48th in the individual standings after 116 golfers along with junior Megan Klintworth of Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton). Klintworth shot an 83 on Thursday.

Junior Nicole Meyer of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton) is three strokes back and tied for 56th. She carded a third-round 80.

Senior Megan Wierenga of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian) also shot a third-round 80. She is tied for 60th — one stroke behind Meyer.

Senior Britni Gielow of Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores) had a third-round 78. She is tied for 75th.
