The Hope women's soccer team remained unbeaten on Saturday night, defeating Trine 4-0 in front of a Van Andel Soccer Stadium crowd of 594.
Senior forward Raisa Yewah of East Lansing (Okemos HS) scored twice to lead the Flying Dutch, who improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in MIAA action. Hope is tied for first place in the league standings with Alma College.
Yewah now has three goals on the season. She opened the scoring in the 15th minute on a well-placed shot from 12 yards out. Senior midfielder Amy Olson of Rockford, Ill. (Guilford HS), had the assist.
After Olson recorded her first goal of the season off an assist from junior defender Brooke Dippel of Mason (Mason HS) in the 44th minute, senior forward Kristina Bosch of Holland (Holland Christian HS) scored just 73 seconds later for a 3-0 halftime lead. Senior midfielder Courtney Laux of Novi (Novi HS) had the assist.
Yewah scored again in the 55th minute, with junior forward Lindsey Bieri of Holland Holland (Holland Christian HS) picking up the assist.
Goalie Lauren Kooy of Metmora (Flint Powers HS) totaled three saves for the shutout.
Hope leads the MIAA with a plus-12 goal difference.
