No. 5 Hope Volleyball Wins Twice At Wittenberg, Stays Unbeaten

The fifth-ranked Hope volleyball team is now 12-0 on the season after winning two more times on Saturday at the Wittenberg (Ohio) University Fall Classic.

The Flying Dutch swept Heidelberg (Ohio) and Ohio Northern on Saturday to finish the two-day tournament with a 4-0 record. Hope defeated sixth-ranked Washington University in St. Louis and eighth-ranked Otterbein (Ohio) on Friday.

Against Heidelberg, Hope won 25-12, 25-14, 25-21 as junior outside hitter Jenna Grasmeyer of Hudsonville (Unity Christian HS) posted a match-high 11 kills on a .423 kill percentage.

Middle hitter Courtney Earles of Kentwood (East Kentwood HS) also reached double figures for the Flying Dutch with 10 kills.

Against Ohio Northern, Hope won 25-15, 25-13, 25-21 as Grasmeyer shared team-high kill honors with junior outside hitter Anna Lynch of Lake Odessa (Lakewood). Both had 12 kills. Earles added 10 with a .588 kill percentage.

Sophomore setter Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport (Fruitport HS) totaled 72 assists during the two matches.
