The Hope College volleyball team sent three special seniors out of their final regular-season match at DeVos Fieldhouse in style on Friday, beating Trine in three sets.
The ninth-ranked Flying Dutch took each set 25-14 for a Senior Day victory for outside hitter Sarah Feldpausch of White Cloud, Michigan (White Cloud HS), libero Alexis Thompson of Monroe, Michigan (St. Mary Catholic Central) and middle hitter Courtney Van Houzen of Traverse City, Michigan (West).
It the group's 110th win in 126 matches during their four-year careers.
Van Houzen led all players with 11 kills. Feldpausch chipped in nine kills, as did junior outside hitter Haley Muller of Grand Rapids, Michigan (GR Christian). Thompson contributed a match-high 13 digs.
Junior setter Sophia Hackett of Indianapolis, Indiana (Brebeuf Jesuit) collected 35 assists as Hope improved to 20-4 overall and 10-2 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.
It is the 12th consecutive season the Flying Dutch have reached the 20-win mark.
Hope returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 22 with a 2 p.m. match at Saint Mary's.
