A junior or senior who demonstrates the true essence of being a student-athlete and embodies the Division III motto of Discover, Develop, Dedicate. This student-athlete is in high academic standing (minimum GPA of 3.75), plays a significant role on the team, and is involved in the Hope and Holland community.
Molly Meyer, Women's Swimming – Meyer is a senior, majoring in Mathematics major and minoring in Economics minor. She was the MIAA Champion in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke this season and has served as team captain for the Flying Dutch for the past two years. She was named to the All-MIAA team for her fourth consecutive season. After studying abroad in Peru in the summer of 2016, Meyer served as a Global Ambassador on campus last semester. She is a math tutor and a peer advisor in the International Education Office. Additionally, Meyer is an active member of Athletes Coming Together/Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (ACT/SAAC).
Kendall Dice, Women’s Soccer – Dice is a Management major and Studio Art minor. She was a starter for the Flying Dutch in 2016 and played a key role in helping the team clinch the MIAA regular season title and MIAA Tournament Championship. Dice has attended a mission trip in Jamaica, traveled to India on a May term, and worked with sports outreach in Japan. She works on campus with Events and Conference Services doing design work, while also running her own design business in the community. Having spent time in Japan, Dice also mentors our Technos exchange students while they are on campus at Hope.
Maddie Bellew, Softball – A senior Management major and Psychology minor, Bellew is incredibly involved in campus activities and has developed into a leader in each of her roles. She is active in STEP, served as an RA and a SARD (the highest student residential life position on campus), Vagina Monologues, serves as a president of GLOBE, and started Hope College Safe Space Training. Bellew is captain for the Flying Dutch and gives back to her teammates in a variety of ways.
