All proceeds raised from the Purple Community basketball games on Saturday, January 28 at DeVos Fieldhouse will help fund an internship for a Hope College student at Van Andel Institute in Grand Rapids and support Purple Community, their grassroots fundraising initiative which connects people who want to join the fight against cancer and neurodegenerative disease.

Fans are encouraged to wear purple to the games. Free cookies will be given to the first fans in the door in purple for each game.
Fight against cancer by purchasing a sucker at the "Cancer Sucks" tree for $1. By purchasing a sucker and donating to the cause, you have the opportunity to win prizes from the Hope-Geneva bookstore, Hope College ticket office, Creative Dining, Haworth Inn, Biggby, and Van Andel Institute.
Participate in a paper airplane contest at halftime of the women's varsity and men's varsity game. For a $1 donation to Van Andel Institute, fans can fold their own airplane to fly onto the court for a chance to win prizes from Hope College athletics.
During halftime of the women's varsity game, we will honor 1988 Hope College alumna DeeAnn (Knoll) Amos who lost her courageous battle with ALS on March 24, 2016 and Coach Karla Wolters '73 who passed away on November 28, 2016 after a brave battle with cancer.
Join us for halftime of the men's varsity game to learn more about Van Andel Institute and the research and internship opportunities for Hope College students.
Purchase a "purple package" with concessions for $6 that includes a popcorn and Gatorade or soda. For every "purple package" purchased, a $1 donation will be made to Van Andel Institute.
Other concession specials for the games include special cookies from General Mills and pigs in a blanket from Timberwood Farms.
If you're unable to attend the game, but are still interested in supporting the cause, you can donate online through Sunday, January 29, 2017.
