Hope College Holds Lead in MIAA Commissioner's Cup Race After Fall Update

Hope College excelled across all sports this fall to earn the lead in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Commissioner's Cup all-sports standings at the fall update.

With 64.5 points from men's and women's sports, Hope is ahead of second-place Calvin University (49) and third-place Trine University (48.5).

Hope is fueled by top-three finishes in all eight fall sports, including league championships in women's cross country and football.

The fall update is an unofficial look at MIAA Commissioner's Cup standings. It includes each team's MIAA finish in four men's and four women's sports.

The Commissioner's Cup is based on the cumulative performance of each member school in the league's 23 sports, 11 in women's sports, and 12 in men's sports; each school counts its top eight finishes by gender.

Hope claimed the MIAA Commissioner's Cup a league-best 37 times, including the 2018-19 school year.

This fall, Hope was the regular season runner-up in women's golf, volleyball, women's soccer, men's golf, and men's soccer. Hope also tied for third place in men's cross country.

In women's sports, Hope totaled 33 points — eight more than the nearest school.

In men's sports, Hope finished the fall with 31.5 points — 6.5 more than the nearest school.
