ACHA Hockey Starts New Year With Sweep Of Davenport

The Hope College American Collegiate Hockey Association team came out strong this past weekend, defeating Davenport twice in the first two games back since December 7.

The Flying Dutchmen skated away with a win of 11-1 at home on Friday and another defeat of 6-1 away on Saturday.

Friday's 11-1 point game was truly a team effort. Eleven different players scored for Hope. Forward Peter Stewart recorded a goal and two assists for the Flying Dutchman.

Allan Hirsch and Austen Peterson both contributed goals and an assist.

Goalie Austin Kane stopped 23 shots.

Brad Baysore contributed two goals during Saturday's 6-1 win. Kane totaled 28 saves.

Hope will skate at home twice this weekend: against Dordt on Friday and Nebraska on Saturday. Both games start at 7:30 p.m. | PO Box 9000, Holland, Michigan 49422
