Ice Hockey Skates Past Western Michigan, 9-0 and 9-3

Hope College's ice hockey team won both games against Western Michigan University last weekend.

The Flying Dutchmen won, 9-0, on Friday at Griff's Ice House West and again on Saturday, 9-3, at Wings West Arena.

Hope improved to 6-0 overall in American Collegiate Hockey Association play.

On Saturday, goalie Lukas Schut stopped 33 shots.

Colin Stecco, pictured, scored four goals and made one assist.

Allan Hirsch had three assists.

On Friday, Brad Baysore led the Hope offense with two goals and one assist.

Goalies Austin Kane and Lukas Schut had 18 and 8 saves respectively. 

Gabe Gunneson also scored twice, one of which was a game-winning goal. 

Brendan Sanders, Lucas Barber, Max Mones, Hirsch and Mason Weiss each contributed one goal. 

Hope College's next game is Friday, October 25 against the University of Michigan at Canton Ice Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
