ACHA Hockey Wins Twice, Advances to Host Vezina Cup Semifinals

The Hope College ice hockey team defeated Indiana Tech, 8-1, on Friday, and Michigan State University, 4-2, on Saturday to advance to the semifinals Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference Vezina Cup Tournament.

The Flying Dutchmen (22-3-2 overall) will host Ferris State University on Friday, February 28 in the semifinals at Griff's IceHouse West. Start time is 7:15 p.m.

The Hope-Ferris State winner advances to the Saturday, February 29 championship game against either the University of Michigan or Central Michigan University at Griff's IceHouse West at 6:30 p.m. Michigan and Central Michigan sakre against each other on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Griff's IceHouse West.

Against Michigan State, goalie Austin Kane made 34 saves.

The Flying Dutchmen received goals from Brad Baysore, Jack Zwiers, Allan Hirsch and Gabe Gunneson. Caleb Wortz added two assists.

Against Indiana Tech, Bayscore scored twice. Hope also received two assists apiece from Hirsch, Kevin Healy and Skylar Miller.
