ACHA Hockey Edged in Vezina Cup Title Game

The Hope College ice hockey team finished runner-up in the Michigan College Hockey Conference tournament after a 2-1 loss to Central Michigan University on Saturday at Griff's Ice House West.

Brad Bayscore scored for the Flying Dutchmen, who are now 23-4-2 on the season.

Goalie Austin Kane made 33 saves.

On Friday, Hope defeated Ferris State, 6-5, in overtime to advance to the championship game.

Kevin Healy netted the game-winner in overtime off assists from Lucas Barber and Caleb Wortz.

Baysore chipped in two goals. Allan Hirsch, Hogan Wierda and Gabe Gunneson also scored.

Hope returns to action on March 19-29 at the American College Hockey Association Division III Tournament.
