The Hope College baseball team dropped a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader to Trine 10-4 and 23-10 on Saturday at Boeve Stadium.
Second baseman Brant Kym of Libertyville, Illinois (Libertyville HS) totaled five hits over two games to lead the Flying Dutchmen.
Kym recorded a three-hit performance in Game 2 that included an RBI double and two singles.
In Game 2, Hope rallied from a 6-0 deficit to take the lead with a seven-run second.
Designated hitter Trace Slancik of Scotts, Michigan (Vicksburg) extended Hope's lead with a fourth-inning RBI single, but the Thunder struck for a five-run fifth that gave them back the lead.
The Flying Dutchmen (10-18, 8-10 MIAA) were swept in the four-game series and are in fifth place in the MIAA standings. Both losses on Friday at Trine came on walkoff hits.
Hope returns to action on Monday, April 23 with a makeup doubleheader at Alma.
