Hope College quarterback Mason Opple has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Football Offensive Player of the Week.
The senior from Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS) guided the Flying Dutchmen to a 21-7 victory at unbeaten Olivet College on Saturday that earned Hope the MIAA lead outright.
Amid rainy and windy conditions, Opple recorded his second 200-yard rushing game in his career. He totaled 213 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. He also completed 7-of-13 passes for 61 yards.
Opple reached the end zone on runs of 7 yards in the first quarter and 12 yards in the fourth quarter.
