Hope College running back Kenyea Houston has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Football Offensive Player of the Week.

The sophomore from Chicago, Illinois (George Westinghouse HS) played an integral role in the Flying Dutchmen's ground attack during a 42-7 victory over Adrian College on Saturday at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium.

That win secured an undefeated league record for Hope and earned the Flying Dutchmen the outright MIAA title.

On a bitter cold but sunny day, Houston rushed for a career-high 194 yards on 23 carries, averaging 8.4 per carry. He scored two touchdowns on runs of 4 yards in the first quarter and 61 yards in the third quarter.

Houston scored nine touchdowns during the MIAA schedule and 11 overall. He finished the regular season ranked second in the MIAA for average yards per game (96.9 yards).

This is the first time that Houston has been chosen as the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week in his career.
