Men's Basketball To Host Great Lakes Invitational In 2018

Great Lakes Invitational logo The Hope College men's basketball team will host the second annual Great Lakes Invitational during the 2018-19 season, event founder Ryan Whitnable announced at this weekend's inaugural tournament in Marietta, Ohio.

The four-team team tournament will be played on December 18-19, 2018 at DeVos Fieldhouse.

The 2018 field will include Hope College, Calvin College, Mount St. Joseph, Ohio University, and LaRoche, Pennsylvania College.

The schedule for Tuesday, December 18 pits Calvin vs. Mount St. Joseph at 5:30 p.m., and Hope vs. LaRoche at 7:30 p.m.

The schedule for Wednesday, December 19 pits Calvin vs. LaRoche at 5:30 p.m., and Hope vs. Mount St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m.

Head coach Greg Mitchell said he is thrilled Hope College will be part of the Great Lakes Invitational again.

"It's a great idea," Mitchell said. "It's a chance to see some quality programs from the Great Lakes Region. What an awesome opportunity."
