Men's Basketball Places Fourth in MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll

The Hope College men's basketball team finished fourth in the 2019-20 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll.

Head coach Greg Mitchell and the Flying Dutchmen totaled 31 points.

The Flying Dutchmen return two starters from last season's team that posted a 15-11 overall record and tied for third place in the MIAA standings.

Senior guard Riley Lewis of Williamston, Michigan (Williamston) earned All-MIAA Second Team honors last season after averaging a career-high 17.3 points per game. Junior forward Preston Granger of Lansing, Michigan (Lansing Christan) scored a career-high 13.3 points and a team-leading 6.1 rebounds per game.

Hope opens the season on Friday, November 8 with a 7 p.m. home game against Ripon College (Wisconsin) at DeVos Fieldhouse.

Albion topped the all seven possible first-place votes. Coaches could not vote for their own team.
