Men's Golf Comes In Second At MIAA Jamboree

The 14th-ranked Hope College men's golf team finished one stroke out of first place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree hosted by Kalamazoo College on Monday.

The Flying Dutchmen shot a team score of 300 behind second-place 1-over-par 73s at Kalamazoo Country Club from juniors Josh Gibson of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS) and Andrew Goble of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton).

Sophomore Daniel Settecerri of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Bloomfield Hills) tied for eighth with a 76.

Senior Kade Hoeksema of Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian) rounded out Hope's scoring with a 78.

Calvin (299) placed first and holds a 10-stroke ahead heading into the 36-hole MIAA Championship on Friday-Saturday, October 13-14 at Battle Creek Country Club.
