Men's Golf Takes Third Place at Second MIAA Jamboree

Jack Crawford poses for a portrait Jack Crawford led the Hope College men's golf team to a third-place finish at the second MIAA Jamboree held at Pine River Country Club and hosted by Alma College on Saturday. The freshman from Carmel, Indiana (Carmel HS), pictured, fired a two-over 74 to tie for fourth place individually.

As a team, the Flying Dutchmen shot 307. Trine University won the event with a 291 with Nick Knowlton of the Thunder taking medalist honors with a two-under 70. Calvin University was second with a 305.

After two jamborees, Hope stands in second place in the league standings with 613. Trine leads the MIAA with 587. Calvin University is third with 621.

Two other Hope freshmen were right behind Crawford on Saturday. Drew Dykens of Holland (West Ottawa HS) and Seth Almquist of Minneapolis, Minn. (Wayzata HS) both carded rounds of 77, tying them for 14th place.

Junior Luke Tapani of Wayzata, Minn. (Providence Academy) added a 79. Senior Daniel Settecerri of Bloomfield Hills (Bloomfield Hills HS) shot an 80.

The Flying Dutchmen compete on league competition again on Saturday, September 28 at Lenawee Country Club Jamboree hosted by Adrian College. Tee time is 1 p.m.
