Men's Golf Takes Second Place at MIAA Jamboree in Adrian, Stays in Second Place Overall

Seth Almquist poses for a portrait Freshman Seth Almquist, pictured, carded a two-under 70 to take second place individually while the Hope College men's golf team shot a 297 to take second place collectively at the third MIAA Jamboree at Lenawee Country Club in Adrian, Michigan on Saturday.

Trine University won the event with a 286 with Cameron Ruge of the Thunder earning medalist honors by shooting a three-under 69.

After three MIAA Jamborees, Coach Scott Lokers' Flying Dutchmen currently have a solid hold on second place in the league standings with 910 strokes. Trine leads with league with 873 while Calvin University is in third place with 928. Kalamazoo College and Adrian College are tied for fourth with 934 strokes.

Other Hope scorers on Saturday include freshman Drew Dykens of Holland (West Ottawa HS) with 75; senior Daniel Settecerri of Bloomfield Hills (Bloomfield HS) and freshman Jack Crawford of Carmel, Ind. (Carmel HS) each with 76; and, junior Luke Tapani of Wayzata, Minn. (Providence Academy) with a 79.

The Flying Dutchmen return to action in two days in the fourth MIAA Jamboree at Kalamazoo Country Club on Monday, September 30. Tee-off time is 1 p.m.
