Men's Lacrosse Posts Second Shutout in Win Against Bethany, W.V.

The Hope College men's lacrosse team posted the second shutout in a team history during a 20-0 win against visiting Bethany, W.V., on Tuesday.

Goalie Nick Schanhals of North Muskegon, Michigan (North Muskegon) and Joey Williams of Farmington Hills, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central) combined for three saves. The Flying Dutchmen blanked an opponent for the first time since March 6, 2016 against Defiance, Ohio.

The Flying Dutchmen improved to 4-1 overall with their fourth consecutive victory.

Twelve different Hope players contributed goals against Bethany (2-2).

Freshman Max Kuiper of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Central) topped the Flying Dutchmen with a career-high six goals.

Senior Zach Weber of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Pioneer) and freshman Rocco Mularoni of Hartland, Michigan (Detroit Catholic Central) had two goals apiece.
