Men's Lacrosse Tops Concordia-Ann Arbor In Home Opener

With Max Kuiper and Rocco Mularoni challenging for Hope College men's lacrosse single-game records, the Flying Dutchmen charged to a 13-5 victory against Concordia-Ann Arbor in Tuesday's home opener.

Kuiper, a sophomore from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Central HS), recorded a game-high five assists during the nonleague match to come within one assist of the Van Andel Soccer single-game record.

Mularoni, a sophomore from Hartland, Michigan (Detroit Country Central HS), netted a game-high five assists that were two from matching the school record.

Kuiper, pictured, set up two of Mularoni's three-period goals that staked Hope to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter.

Mularoni also set up on of Kuiper's goals during the opening quarter.

Freshman Ben Staubus of Westville, Indiana (Mount Carmel) chipped in two goals for the Flying Dutchmen.

Goalie Nick Schanhals of North Muskegon, Michigan (North Muskegon) earned the win after making five saves in 45 minutes of play.
