Men's Soccer Preview: Trine

The Hope College men's soccer team welcomes Trine University to Van Andel Soccer Stadium on Saturday, October 21 for a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association match. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

Today is Senior Day for the Flying Dutchmen. We will honor senior David White of Vernon Hills, Illinois (Vernon Hills HS) during a pregame ceremony.

Coach Steven Smith and the Flying Dutch are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss at Kalamazoo College on Thursday. James Reymann scored for the Flying Dutchmen. The Flying Dutchmen (6-7-2 overall) are in fourth place in the MIAA with a 5-4-2 league record. Trine (5-4-5, 3-4-4 MIAA) is in fifth place and trails Hope by four points in the league standings. A league win is worth three points, while a tie earns one point.

This is the 28th Hope-Trine men's soccer match. The Flying Dutchmen lead the all-time series 23-3-2. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw at Trine on September 27. Isaac Braak scored for the Flying Dutchmen.
