Danny Brandt became an assistant coach for the Hope College men’s soccer team in 2018.
A two-time national champion, Brandt joins the Flying Dutchmen coaching staff after a successful playing career at the college and semi-professional levels.
Brandt won NCAA Division III titles with Messiah College (Pennsylvania) in 2013 and 2017. He played in every game during both of those seasons. In three seasons as a player, he helped Messiah post a 69-4-2 overall record. He was named All-MAC Commonwealth Conference First Team in 2014 and 2017 and All Mid-Atlantic Region in 2014. He also received College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District honors in 2014.
Brandt played for the Ocean City Noreasters of Premier Development league and the Lansing United of the National Premier Soccer League.
Brandt also was a member of D.C. United Academy. He was one of 5 players called up to play in the 2012 MLS Reserve League against Montreal Impact & Philadelphia Union. He trained with D.C. United's first team under head coach Ben Olsen.
In high school, Brandt played for DeMatha Catholic High School near Washington, D.C., and helped DeMatha finish No. 1 in the nation in 2011.
Brandt is the son of head coach Dave Brandt. He graduated from Messiah in 2018 with a degree in Communications.
