Men's Divers Fare Well On 3-Meter Board At Five-Team Meet

Hope College recorded three of the top six performances in men's 3-meter diving during a five-team meet at Calvin College on Saturday.

Senior Brian Simonich of Highland, Michigan (Milford HS), pictured left, finished runner-up with 463.35 points.

Sophomore Grant Williams of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids), pictured right, placed third with 442.95 points. Freshman Kamaron Wilcos of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Central) was sixth with 277.30 points.

Sophomore Daniel Keith of Saline, Michigan (Saline) clocked a third-place 100-yard freestyle of 48.05 seconds.

Freshman Liam Faber of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Kentwood) clocked a fourth-place swim in the 200 breaststroke of 2:18.71.

Junior Daniel Clyde of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Huron) placed fourth in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:23.87. Faber was seventh at 4:33.31.

Freshman Andrew Dwan of Bay City, Michigan (John Glenn) finished fifth in the 200 freestyle with a swim of 1:51.56.

The 800 free relay of Keith, Clyde, sophomore Will Benner of State College, Pennsylvania (State College Area), and Dwan was fifth at 7:29.05.

Clyde came in seventh in the 200 backstroke at 2:03.52.

The 400 freestyle relay of Clyde, Keith, Dwan, and freshman Nick Weigle of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville) was seventh at 3:18.02.

Hope finished fifth with 318 points.

The Flying Dutchmen's next meet is Friday, November 9 with a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association dual at Olivet College.
