The Hope College men's tennis team is taking a swing at back-to-back Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament titles.
The second-seeded Flying Dutchmen open postseason play on Thursday, May 2 with a 4 p.m. semifinal match at home against third-seeded Calvin College at Etheridge Tennis Complex. If necessary, the match will be moved indoors to DeWitt Tennis Center.
Thursday's winner advances to Saturday's title match to face either top-seeded Kalamazoo College or fourth-seeded Adrian College at the site of the highest remaining seed.
The MIAA Tournament champion will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament. The national field is announced on ncaa.com on Monday, May 6 by noon.
Hope enters with an 11-9 overall record, while Calvin is 12-7.
The Flying Dutchmen won the regular-season meeting between the two schools, 8-1, on April 9.
Hope defeated the Knights in the 2018 MIAA Tournament final, 5-1. The Flying Dutchmen avenged a 5-4 loss to Calvin during the regular season.
