Track & Field's Josh Izenbart Sets Indoor High Jump Record At Ohio Northern

Hope College's Josh Izenbart set an Ohio Northern University Sports Center facility record in the high jump for an indoor heptathlon on Saturday in Ada, Ohio.

The junior from Glenwood, Illinois (Homewood-Flossmoor HS) cleared 1.99 meters (6 feet, 6 ¼ inches) for first place in the high jump en route to a third-place overall score of 4,527 points in the heptathlon.

Hope's school record in the indoor high jump is 2.10 meters (6-10 ¾), set in 2011 by John Donkersloot.

During the heptathlon, Izenbart posted the top performance in the 60-meter hurdles. He ran a time of 8.73 seconds.

Izenbart heaved the second best shot put of the day at 11.91 meters (39-1).

Izenbart ran the third-fastest 1,000 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 57.66 seconds.
