Sophomore Jacob Kelley of Rockford, Michigan (Rockford HS) led the Hope College men's cross country team at the Muskegon Community College on Friday.
Kelly, pictured, clocked an 8K time of 27 minutes, 18.25 seconds and finished 81st out of 194 runners.
The Flying Dutchmen took 11th out of 20 teams with 336 points.
Junior Jonah Engelhardt of Cincinnati, Ohio (Wyoming HS) took second for Hope and 107th overall by posting a run of 27:58.93.
Freshman Garrett Peck of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Skyline HS) and junior Andrew Schuring of Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Linn Mar HS) finished together. Peck placed 111th with a time of 28:10.42, while Schuring followed in 112th place, coming in at 28:11.57.
Freshman Cameron Carpenter from Glencoe, Missouri (Lafayette HS) crossed the finish line in 28:32.09 for the Flying Dutchmen's final points with a 124th-place effort.
Senior Nicholas Johnson of Grand Haven, Michigan (Grand Haven HS) ran a time of 28:45.67 and took 127th place for Hope.
Freshman Gray Vandervelde from McBain, Michigan (McBain) finished 138th by clocking in at 29:20.46.
The Flying Dutchmen will race next on Saturday at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational.
