Hope Softball Drops Pair Of Games At Chicago

The Hope College softball team dropped two games at the University of Chicago on Thursday. The Flying Dutch lost the opener 1-0 in extra innings and the nightcap 5-0.

Hope (18-14 overall) totaled five hits during the second game, including doubles from catcher Hayley Reitsma and leftfielder Noelle Jackson.

Chicago (19-6) took a 3-0 lead with single runs in the second, third and fourth innings, then tacked on two more in the fifth.

Chicago's Jordon Poole no-hit the Flying Dutch over eight innings, but allowed nine baserunners between seven walks and two fielding errors. 

Hope returns to action on Saturday, April 23 with 1 p.m. Senior Day doubleheader against Saint Mary's at Wolters Stadium.
