Eight Softball Players Earned Spots On 2016-17 MIAA Academic Honor Roll

Eight members of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion Hope College softball team have made the 2016-17 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Honor Roll.

Sammi Adams, senior from Griffith, Ind./Griffith

Tena Baar, freshman from Byron Center/Byron Center

Maddie Bellew, senior from Jackson/Jackson

Amanda Diaz, freshman from Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein

Katrina Ellis, senior from Holly/Goodrich

Jenna Fort, junior from Vicksburg/Vicksburg Community

Alex Knorp, junior from Livonia/Adlai E. Stevenson

Hayley Reitsma, junior from Ada/Grand Rapids Christian

The group is among a league-high 202 Hope College student-athletes to earn spots on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll by maintaining a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the year.

Bellew is one of 16 Hope College student-athletes who made the MIAA Academic all four years.

The academic awards program is administered by the faculty representatives of the MIAA member colleges.
