Hope College's Shay Pinhey has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Softball Position Player of the Week.
The senior third baseman from Ann Arbor, Michigan (Pioneer HS) is receiving the award for the second time in her career and the first time this season.
Pinhey batted .429 over eight games last week while helping the Flying Dutch win seven times and conclude their annual Florida trip with a 9-3 overall record.
Against SUNY-Plattsburgh, Pinhey went 4-for-4 with five RBIs, three runs scored, two doubles and one triple.
Pinhey finished the week with 12 hits, including two triples and three doubles. She collected 13 RBIs and scored 11 runs.
