Women's and Men's Basketball Preview: Purple Community Games

The Hope College women's and men's basketball teams are teaming up to benefit Van Andel Institute with their Purple Community Games on Saturday, Jan. 28 at DeVos Fieldhouse.

All four Flying Dutch and Flying Dutchmen teams are wearing special purple jerseys in support of Van Andel Institute.

Play begins at 12:45 p.m. with the women's junior varsity game against Flying Dutch alumni.

Former Flying Dutch players scheduled to appear are Ashley Bauman, Maddie Burnett, Molly Collins, Miranda DeKuiper, Liz Ellis, Lauren Geers, Megan Kelley, Emily Klauka, Kelsey Masserant,   Brooke Ross, Carrie Snikkers, and Kamara Sudberry.

The 3 p.m. women's varsity game will pit the sixth-ranked Flying Dutch (17-2, 9-1 MIAA) vs. Alma (5-13, 3-6 MIAA.

The 5:15 p.m. men's junior varsity game pairs the Flying Dutchmen against Albion.

The 7:30 p.m. men's varsity game pits the Flying Dutchmen (13-4, 7-0 MIAA) against Albion (5-13, 2-5 MIAA).
