Abigail Meder Shoots 2-Over-Par 74; Women's Golf Second At MIAA Jamboree

For openers, Hope College's Abigail Meder found The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall to her liking.

The sophomore from Lansing, Michigan (Catholic Central HS) fired a 2-over-par 74 during the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree of the season on Thursday and finished first out of 54 golfers.

Mader came within two strokes of the MIAA course record owned by Hope's Nicole Meyer (2016).

Hope placed second out of nine teams with a team score of 332. Saint Mary's (326) took first.

Thursday's jamboree was the first of six 18-hole rounds played this fall to determine the MIAA champion. The lowest cumulative score wins.

Sophomore Jordyn Rioux of Farmington, Michigan (Livonia Ladywood) tied for ninth with an 82.

Freshman Megan Radaz of Alma, Michigan (Alma) tied for 13th by carding an 84.

Freshman Megan Jenkinson of Traverse City, Michigan (West) chipped an 92.

Senior Ariana Stewart of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Comstock) and freshman Deanna DeLeeuw of Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville) each had 94s.
