Women's Golf Edged In Match Play By Trine

The Hope College women's golf team was edged by Trine University, 3-2, in match play on Tuesday at The Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck.

Jordyn Rioux and Megan Jenkinson earned points for the Flying Dutch.

Rioux, a sophomore from Farmington, Michigan (Livonia Ladywood HS), pictured, left, defeated Lyndsey Welper, 7&6.

Jenkinson, a freshman from Traverse City, Michigan (T.C. West), pictured right, earned a 3&2 victory against Karlee Fackler.

Trine claimed all three of its points in playoff victories.

MacKenna Kelly topped freshman Megan Radaz of Alma, Michigan (Alma) in 20 holes.

Olivia Phillips beat senior Ariana Stewart of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Comstock) in 19 holes.

Jenna Doumont downed sophomore Abigail Meder of Lansing, Michigan (Lansing Catholic Central) in 19 holes.

In exhibition play, Becca Baughman recorded a 4&2 victory against freshman Samantha Karwowicz of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan (Grosse Pointe North).

Hope's next match is Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m. vs. Olivet at The Ravines.
