Women's Golf Downs Calvin in Match Play, 6-1

In an annual spring match-play competition that honors Joan Stafford, the late wife of Hope coach Greg Stafford, the Flying Dutch golf team claimed a dominating victory in defeating Calvin College, 6-1, on Friday at the Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck.

This marks the fifth consecutive year that Hope has defeated the Knights in this dueling format.

Hope returns to action next on Friday-Saturday, April 26-27 in rounds two and three of the MIAA NCAA Division III Championship Qualifier. On Thursday, Hope hosted the first round of the 54-hole national qualifier and placed second behind Saint Mary's. Next weekend, the Belles — as the MIAA regular season champion last fall — will hold the final two rounds on its home course at Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Indiana.
