Why did you choose Hope College? Hope College had everything I was looking for. A small college, with a welcoming and family atmosphere, in a great area was exactly what I was looking for. Everyone that I met was so kind. I felt at home and like I belonged there.

What is your favorite pregame meal or snack? And why? I love fruit snacks. I love them because while I was in high school our coach always had fruit snacks. Before matches and regionals he would make us snack bags and there were always fruit snacks. Me and my teammates were always fighting over the fruit snacks.

What is your favorite movie and why? My favorite movie is the Blindside. Not only do I love any sports movie but this movie shows the affects being kind to someone can have. It is an inspiring true story that shows how hard work and dedication can pay off, the importance of being a student first and then an athlete, and how one person can have such a positive impact on someone's life.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received? The best advice I've ever received is that you cannot please everyone and life needs balance. I always want everyone to be happy but I have realized that is not possible and I have to stay true to myself. I also have realized that balance is so important. Balancing school work and sports in so important, but it's also important to take some time for yourself.

List a favorite Bible verse and why it is meaningful to you. Romans 8:28 - "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." This verse is meaningful to me because it reminds me that no matter what challenges and troubles I face, I know that God will turn everything to good. While I may not always see it He has a plan and it's all for Him and His purposes.

Please list any service opportunities you plan to be engaged with this year: Both on campus and off campus. (i.e. Mortar Board, CASA, Dance Marathon, Boys & Girls Club). I plan on participating in the service opportunity during orientation around Holland and I also plan on participating in Dance Marathon.
