Women's Golf in Sixth Place at Two-Day Invitational at Olivet

Abigail Meder poses for a portrait. The Hope College women's golf team finished its first round of play in the two-day Kyle Campbell Invitational in sixth place with a round of 350 on Friday. The event, hosted by Olivet College at the The Medalist Golf Club, Country Club in Marshall, Michigan, is currently led by defending MIAA champion Saint Mary's College which shot a 322.

Junior Abigail Meder of Lansing (Lansing Catholic Central HS), pictured, fired an 84 to lead Hope. Meder is tied for 18th place. 

Adding rounds of 87 each were freshman Grace VanDellen of Oxford (Lutheran Northwest HS) and sophomore Lexi Miller of Bremen, Ind. (Bremen HS), tying them for 30th place.

Sophomore Deanne DeLeeuw of Hudsonville (Hudsonville HS) added an 89 (37th place) and junior Jordyn Rioux of Farmington (Livonia Ladywood HS) finished with a 90 (tied for 38th place).

A total of 12 teams and 75 players are participating in the event.

The Kyle Campbell Invitational continues tomorrow with tee time at 8:30 a.m.
