Hope Women's Lacrosse Falls At Alma 12-9 In MIAA Match

Senior Molly Greenfield of Georgetown, Texas (Georgetown HS), scored three times to lead the Hope College women's lacrosse team during a 12-9 loss at Alma on Saturday.

The Flying Dutch dropped to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in MIAA play.

Three Hope players scored two goals apiece: senior Makenzie Bortell of Montague, Michigan (Montague HS), sophomore Dana Kym of Libertyville, Illinois (Libertyville HS), and freshman Grace Ahlgrim of Libertyville, Illinois (Libertyville HS).

The Flying Dutch were even with Alma (3-6, 2-0 MIAA) at halftime at 7-7.  The Scots took control by scoring the first three goals of the second half.

Freshman goalie Michaela Biegner of Hillsdale, Michigan (Hillsdale HS), collected seven saves for Hope.

The loss snapped a two-game win streak for the Flying Dutch.

Hope returns to action on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at Adrian.
