Hope Women's Lacrosse Edged In Highest-Scoring Game At Van Andel Stadium

Senior Makenzie Bortell of Montague, Michigan (Montague HS), pictured, scored a career-high six goals for the Hope College women's lacrosse team during an 18-16 nonleague loss to Aquinas on Tuesday.

It was the highest-scoring women's lacrosse game ever at Van Andel Stadium, passing the previous record of 32 goals between two teams. 

Two players added three goals apiece for the Flying Dutch: senior Molly Greenfield of Georgetown, Texas (Georgetown HS), and sophomore Dana Kym of Libertyville, Illinois (Libertyville HS).

Freshman goalie Michaela Biegner of Hillsdale, Michigan (Hillsdale HS), made eight saves.

Hope returns to action on Wednesday when the Flying Dutch host Trine for a 5 p.m. MIAA match.
