The Hope College women's lacrosse team suffered a 19-7 loss at Calvin on Thursday in MIAA action.
The Flying Dutch (6-7 overall) received a team-high two goals from senior Molly Greenfield of Georgetown, Texas (Georgetown HS).
Hope fell to 5-2 in MIAA play and sits in third place in the league standings with one match remaining before the MIAA Tournament. The Flying Dutch lead fourth-place Alma and Olivet by one game.
Hope received one goal apiece from senior Makenzie Bortell of Montague, Michigan (Montague HS), sophomore Dana Kym of Libertyville, Illinois (Libertyville HS), freshman Grace Ahlgrim of Libertyville, Illinois (Libertyville HS), freshman Erin Caton of Rochester Hills, Michigan (Pontiac Notre Dame HS), and freshman Emily Deane of Rochester Hills, Michigan (Adams HS).
The Flying Dutch could not overcome a fast Calvin start as the Knights charged ahead 13-2 by halftime en route to clinching a share of the MIAA championship.
Hope returns to action on Saturday when the Flying Dutch host Albion at 4 p.m. on Senior Day at Van Andel Stadium.
