2016 MIAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament Preview

The Hope College women's lacrosse team looks to continue a banner season in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association tournament this week and claim the MIAA's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship. 

The Flying Dutch have the most wins in team history since their first varsity season in 2012.

Hope must win two matches this week in order to advance to the NCAA Championship.

This is the third time the Flying Dutch have qualified for the MIAA Tournament and second in a row under second-year head coach Kim Vincent.

Hope is 0-2 in MIAA Tournament play, losing to Albion in the 2015 semifinals and Alma in the 2013 semifinals.


The Flying Dutch lost 8-7 to Calvin on Thursday, April 28 at Van Andel Stadium. The Knights scored the first three goals of the match and led by three goal two more times in the first half, but Hope rallied to tie the at 5-5 at the 10-minute, 11-second mark of the second half. Back-to-back Calvin goals put the Flying Dutch down for good. Recap
