Balanced Scoring Propels Women's Lacrosse Past Trine

The Hope College women's lacrosse team pushed its win streak to a season-high three games with a 19-1 victory against visiting Trine on Tuesday.

Seven different Flying Dutch players scored at Van Andel Soccer Stadium in Hope's second-highest scoring game of the season.

The Flying Dutch raised their second to 5-4 overall and 3-0 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play. They remained a half-game ahead of Calvin (4-5, 2-0 MIAA).

Senior Alexandra Webb of Woodland Hills, California (Calabasas HS) and junior Emily Deane of Rochester Hills, Michigan (Adams) scored four times apiece to lead Hope.

Three of their teammates chipped in three goals apiece: senior Dana Kym of Libertyville, Illinois (Libertyville), junior Erin Caton of Rochester Hills, Michigan (Pontiac Notre Dame Prep), and sophomore Madeline Shupe of Hinsdale, Illinois (Central).

Caton, pictured, also collected a match-three assists. Senior Serena Harris of Preston, Idaho (Preston) and Webb each had two assists.

Kym and Webb shared the Hope lead with 22 goals this season.

Hope's next match is Tuesday, April 18 at Olivet at 7:30 p.m.
