Women's Lacrosse Scores Final Four Goals, Beats Aquinas

Carly Pieri contributed to four unanswered goals that propelled the Hope College women's lacrosse team to an 11-8 victory at Aquinas College on Saturday.

The freshman from Alto, Michigan (Caledonia HS) scored three times and assisted on the Flying Dutch's goal in the nonleague victory — all over the final 17 minutes, 38 seconds.

Hope moved to 3-0 overall to start the season after overcoming an 8-7 deficit.

Pieri, pictured, finished with a career-high five goals.

Freshman Paige Wilmer of Columbus, Ohio (Upper Arlington) added three goals for Hope, including one during the second half.

The Flying Dutch outscored Aquinas (2-1 overall) by a 6-3 margin after halftime.

Goalie Laurel Frederickson of Alto, Michigan (Lowell) made a career-high 11 saves.
