Women's Lacrosse Sets Scoring Record In MIAA-Opening Victory

The Hope College women's lacrosse team set a team home scoring record in a 24-1 victory against Olivet on Saturday in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener for both teams.

Hope also equaled its scoring record for a half with 17 during the first half. The Flying Dutch previously had 17 in a 2013 first half against Loras (Iowa).

Freshman Rachel Elder of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS), pictured, scored three of her team-high and collegiate-high five goals before halftime.

Freshman Paige Wilmer of Columbus, Ohio (Upper Arlington) finished with three goals and three assists.

Freshman Carly Pieri of Alto, Michigan (Alto) recorded two goals and two assists.
